Tools

We combine the best tools in chemistry and biology to study natural products

Natural product biosynthesis requires a broad range of instrumentation. This includes tools for routine molecular biology such as centrifuges and thermocyclers as well as well as tools for routine organic chemistry such as rotovaps and fume hoods. More niche tools include our bioprocess equiment, such as our three 15 L Applikon bioreactors, which allows us to grow dozens of liters of culture in a week. We also have excellent bioanalytical equipment, including a Shimadzu HPLC for preparative purifications, a Thermo LTQ XL mass spectrometer with Vanquish UPLC and an Oxford Nanopore Technologies Promethion sequencer (P2 Solo).
